So what do I blog about these days when my days are filled with taking care of the Divine Miss S and getting in writing whenever I can? These days my life is taken up by pressing baby issues, mostly. Like what diaper truly is the best to use for overnight? And how can I get my daughter to eat these organic mushed up peas? Or how the hell can I occupy her for fifteen minutes in order to clean the kitchen floor?
In between these heavy domestic issues the thoughts in my mind are about Witch Blood. They have to do with how to off certain characters, the limitations of magick, and the lifestyle issues of demons.
It’s a strange juxtaposition.
I could blog about how my husband is ordering The Worst Movies Evar from Netflix. Like French horror movies. Yes, you read that right. The French DO make horror movies. They are, sorry to say, just as bad as American horror movies. They’re just, you know, in French.
Or I could blog about how I’m totally trying not to obsess about the release of Witch Fire…and totally failing.
Or I could blog about how I’m sitting in our screened in porch right now with the Divine Miss S rolling around in her Pack n’ Play next to me saying maamaamammamm, (an attempt at Mama, I think), and how it’s a freaking BEEYOOOUTIFUL day.
So, tell me…is there anything you’d like me to blog about? Any pressing blogging issues on your mind? Burning questions for a paranormal and erotic romance writer? C’mon, let them rip. I’ll blog about them.
Well, Lisa, I aim to please.
Thanks for the bouncy hanging thing tip. 🙂
by anyabastblog May 12th, 2007 at 7:25 pmI can’t help you, I’m afraid. I’m always looking for things to blog about at RTB and I just blog whatever comes to mind on my personal blog.
How about how you arrived your pen name? (it is a pen name, correct?) I’m trying to figure out mine because I decided that M Kink Just Won’t Do.
by miladyinsanity May 12th, 2007 at 9:55 pmDon’t really have any questions right now. I just snatched your blogsite addy from Rhi’s blog and thought I’d come over and say HI.
I started a blog about a month ago, before I had any idea what I wanted to do with it, and thought maybe I could get ideas from others.
So … thanks a lot. I come here, and you’re looking for things to talk about.
What are the chances?
As for the baby, get one of those bouncy hanging things she can’t get out of. Guaranteed for several minutes of exhausting fun until the little tyke wears herself out. 😀
by Lisa Andel May 12th, 2007 at 7:18 pmaww May – no Mink? I mean mKINK? You want i should shovel over some of the BAZILLION questions i have Anya? I wasn’t kiddin’ when i said my brain – she never shuts the hell up.
The most recent one mulling around in my head that i hadn’t figured out an approach on yet: who puts the kink in sex. authors and explorations of the wilder side of sex in erotica. Jokes are made about “research” but how many actually explore outside their comfort zone for a book? How do they know they have it right if it’s all imagination? Are they using other authors for references for scenes and if so how do they know THEY had it right? And if it’s hands on “research” how do they talk their significant other into playing along – how do you even ask? Do you stop in the middle and go “oh wait – gotta write this down – it’s good stuff.” And how do you open a discussion about this when even erotica authors may be reluctant to admit how down and dirty they do or do not get. Ya know? ummm – that’s one topic.
And then Miss Frou/Vikki had a fun, silly topic that begs to be explored: what actor/actress do others picture playing you in the movie about your life. For example – my inner image of Anya is someone that’s kind of a Daryl Hannah/ Michelle Pfeiffer mix.
by Rhian May 13th, 2007 at 10:17 amMilady — YES! Something to blog about. Thank you!
Rhian — MORE stuff to blog about! Jackpot! (You did end up in the spam folder, btw. I rescued you a few times)
Seeley — She loves Baby Einstein. It’s actually the only children’s programming she seems to enjoy. Unfortunately, her attention span is only about 15 minutes long. Sometimes I get a little writing done, though!
by anyabastblog May 13th, 2007 at 3:33 pmNo Mkink… and you know, that must be why Rhian keeps going into spam: she comments with porn, I mean, sex stuff. *ggg*
by miladyinsanity May 13th, 2007 at 3:49 pmMzKink – is going to spam the 21st century way of going to hell?
by Rhian May 13th, 2007 at 5:52 pmMe and my potty mouth – sigh.
Baby Einstein.
At that age I could sit The Boy in his little booster with a tray, add cheerios and he was good for almost an hour. Now, at 4, he’ll sit through an entire disney movie. (I have exactly 1 hour and 48 minutes to check email and blogs, clean the bathroom, do the dishes, prep supper, fold 3 loads of laundry, and convince my CP I actually did write today)
As for topics, we’ll read anything you write!
by Seeley deBorn May 13th, 2007 at 3:07 pmI’ve got a question (or more). When is the length of a book decided? Who decides how long a book is going to be … is it the author, the publisher … or the book itself? Has any book you have written taken on a life of it’s own in a way you didn’t expect … and if so, how did you deal with it? Is there a particular length of book you prefer to write? Is it harder to write long stories or short ones …
You want me to keep going … *LOL*
by stresswizard May 18th, 2007 at 8:05 pmI’d go for Mz Kink as a blog name, except that I don’t review much erotic stuff, and certainly don’t write it.
