ANTICIPATION AND SEDUCTION
Some romances are meant to be…

ANTICIPATION
What if the “one who got away.,.”didn’t.
Deidre Nelson has never forgotten the man who stole her heart so effectively a decade ago. When circumstances bring her back to Ventura, Texas to look after her parents’ B&B, she prepares to face Jonas Mendez, the sexy wrangler-turned sheriff, with growing anticipation.
Deidre’s engaging smile and seductive gaze has haunted Jonas for ten years. But life’s cruel ironies pepper his past, leaving him guarded and wary. He vows to keep his interaction with Deidre strictly professional while she’s in Ventura.
But when vandalism at the B&B turns life-threatening, Jonas finds himself intimately involved with the one woman he has always wanted but never touched. As a decade of built-up anticipation becomes reality, suddenly the line between protector and possessor begins to blur.

SUSANNA’S SEDUCTION

Seduction can be spontaneous…
Susan Brennon never expected that running an errand for her future sister-in-law would land her a spur-of-the-moment date. When Michael leads her down a sensual path of seduction, she takes on the sexy Italian full-throttle, all the while keeping her heart under tight guard. Every person she’s formed a close attachment to has moved on. She doesn’t expect Michael to be any different.
From the moment he touches Susan, Michael Piccoli wants her. But as their relationship grows more physical, he finds that for the first time in his life he desires more than sex from a woman he wants the whole package with Susanna. Michael’s determined to break through the rigid hold Susanna has on her emotions. He’ll do anything to reach her, even if that means taking their relationship to a whole new level.
Two sexy stories that’ll make you believe in happy-ever-afters all over again.

Author Bio:

Born and raised in the Southeast, award-winning author Patrice Michelle gave up her financial calculator for a keyboard and never looked back. Thanks to an open-minded family who taught her that life isn’t as black and white as we’re conditioned to believe, she pens her novels with the belief that various shades of gray are a lot more interesting. She’s a natural with a point-and-shoot camera, likes to fiddle with graphic design and, to the relief of her family, strums her guitar to an audience of one.

Well, that’s the condensed, back-of-the-book bio about moi, anyway. :o)

As for becoming a writer…I wasn’t one of those writers scribbling stories as soon as I could write, but I was a voracious reader. At the age of fifteen, I told my mom after I’d finished reading a book, “One day, I want to be the one who writes the kind of books readers think about long after they’ve closed it.

Interview Questions:

1.) How did you get started in writing and how long have you been doing it? I was an avid reader from my elementary years, but around fifteen my love of reading turned into the desire to tell the kind of stories that stayed with readers long after they finished the book! I’ve been writing on and off since I was fifteen, but it wasn’t until 2003 that I got serious about getting published. I published my first novel nine months later and I’ve been creating stories ever since.

2.) What genres/subgenres are your favorites to write within and do you have any aspirations to write outside your current genres/subgenres. Try something new? I love writing in both the contemporary genre (cowboys!  ) and in the paranormal genre (vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters). Most of my most recent novels have been paranormal. As for stories I’ve wanted to write…YES, I’ve wanted to write a young adult book for several years now. I’d also love to write an urban fantasy and a paranormal thriller type story one day, too.

3.) What are you working on now ? Currently I’m working on a paranormal romance as well as a paranormal young adult.

Anything else you’d like to share? Thank you, Anya, for hosting this cool event on your blog!

Readers, here is the contest part. Answer this question in the comments to be entered in a drawing for a copy of ANTICIPATION AND SEDUCTION. Check back to tomorrow for the announcement of the winner. The winner will have until May 5th (that’s the last day of the contest) to contact me in order to collect the prize. This contest IS open to non-US entrants.

What’s a household chore you actually like to do?:

Patrice says: LOL! None! But if I had to pick one, I’d say Swiffering the floor, mainly because it’s mindless, which allows me to think about plot lines, character arcs and ways to fix an issue in a story.

Okay, how about you, blog readers?

  1. Is cooking a chore? Cos I do enjoy it these days, adn washing the dishes can be nice, when i finally get to it

  2. I like laundry, the smells, how warm the clothes are coming out of the dryer… nice 🙂

  3. While nothing about housework really excites me, the one thing I dislike the least is washing the dishes…especially since I have a dishwasher. I love letting the machine do all the work and then unloading all these sparkling clean glasses, dishes, utensils, etc. and putting them away.

  4. The only thing around the house that even comes close to exciting me has to be cooking and baking. I love working in the kitchen, I just dont like the cleaning up after myself.

  5. Of course not! I like cooking but I don’t really count that as a chore because cooking is essential to life 🙂 I guess the thing I dislike the least is vacuuming the floor.

  6. i like folding laundry, i find it relaxing… although putting the laundry away is another story… i detest that chore! thanks for the chance to win!

  7. Household chores and I don’t get along. I let alot of things slide until it has to be done and then I drag my feet to get it finished that day. I guess maybe one thing I don’t have to much of a problem doing would be laundry. At least with that I can do something else, like dusting and putting things back where they belong, while waiting for the washer to done.

What’s a household chore you actually like to do?:

  8. for some strange reason I love love love to vacuum! I don’t know, I find it relaxing and I love the smell of a clean house! I guess I like to dust to, with lemon pledge.

  9. Well, since i have a cleaning lady i don’t have to do any of the dirty chores which is really good. But i like putting dishes away right when they’re hot. I don’t know why. I like the warmness of them and it’s soothing if i have the music on. Lol. Yes i;m werid.

  10. I love painting the walls and cupboards, I probably change the colors in our kitchen and living room every other year. I love rearranging furniture too, I find both things to be a great stress reliever!

  11. I like cleaning day, it’s actually very relaxing scrubbing sinks, tubs and floors, lol. I get alot of time to think and always make sure I’m home along when I do it so I can blast the music.
This book sounds SO good….I love lawmen, especially a sexy sheriff!!

  12. Laundry.

And I don’t mean just putting the clothes in the washer, moving to the dryer, folding, putting away.

I do a lot of hand washing (socks, for example), and I just love the sense of accomplishment getting each piece white again 😀

  13. Laundry….I like how the clothes smell when they come fresh out of the dryer…I like being able to see the accomplishment as I get the piles cleaned up off the floor!!!

  14. I really don’t mind doing dishes. I usually zone out to some really great daydream. It doesn’t hurt that my kitchen sink faces out to my flower garden, so often I just look at the flowers and watch the butterflies.

  15. I don’t mind the dishes! HATE folding laundry, but the dishes don’t bother me. 🙂

  16. I like to sweep our front porch..no idea why, but I like doing it! 🙂

  17. I like to make the beds. Of course my cats like to help which makes it fun! 😆

  18. The dishes are the one choir that I don’t mind doing. There’s just my mother and I at our house, so there’s never a lot to do. 😀

  19. I like to dust my bookshelves. I have a ton of books and I like for it all to look pretty.

  20. I don’t mind folding laundry. I usually do it when I’m watching TV so it makes it seem less like work. 😀

  21. I don’t necessarily enjoy doing any household chore, but I get satisfaction after doing my Saturday cleaning: watching and cleaning the bathroom, vacuum, and laundry. But during the week, I do not look forward to it and while I’m doing it, it’s not much fun, however, once everything is done–and everything is looking and smelling great, I feel a sense of accomplishment! 🙂

  22. That should state Washing and cleaning not watching and cleaning! 🙂

  23. None, but if I had to choose my penance it would be vacuuming 🙁

  24. The dishes! It’s very therapeutic!

  25. Cooking b/c it’s the only creative thing that I am good at and I don’t consider it a chore.

  26. I don’t know if you consider this a chore but I enjoy cooking!

  27. I have this sick obsession with cleaning. I love to do it. Very anal about it. So my favorite is almost all of them. But I do love a clean bathroom, so I have to go with that. I love the smells of cleaning. It’s sick… right?

  28. My fav household chore is actually outside… I love watering my garden… taking the time to water each plant and seeing the results! 😀

  29. Laundry, it is soothing it makes you slow down

  30. I don’t mind doing laundry and washing dishes.

  31. I’m asking the same thing…is cooking a chore? I love cooking! Hate dishes, but love cooking. If not, well I actually enjoy laundry. I love the smell of clean clothes.

  32. I like cleaning if it involves my swiffer and swiffer duster. I also enjoy deep cleaning my house. For some reason I get a perverse sense of satisfaction from getting dirt out of cracks and crevices that most people miss. I blame this on my Virgo Moon….

  33. I’m going to assume that cooking is a household chore. Or maybe gardening? LOL I don’t mind those too much.

  34. Don’t really care for household chores but the one I mind the least is sweeping/vacuuming. I really hate doing the dishes!!!

  35. I actually love to dust something soothing in it for me

  36. The only chore I can say I enjoy doing is vacuuming or any chore I don’t have to do. LOL Have a great day.

  37. I enjoy vaccuming.

  38. Hi Anya!

Patrice’s book sounds like an awesome read. I’m adding it to my list for sure.

What household chore do I actually like to do?

That would be cleaning the bathrooms. lol I love that clean smell and how the taps shine when I’m finished. (I know – how very OCDish of me.)

Thank you for the ongoing contest Anya!

    Best Regards 😀

  39. I’d have to say laundry because all that it needs from me is toss the clothes in the washer, pour the soap in, and the machine does all the rest

  40. I like to vacuum the floors and tease my little Shih Tzu puppy with the “loud Monster”. He’s so funny trying to attack the “loud monster”.

    Blessings,
    rhonda 😀

  41. Well, I don’t really like any household chores, but I guess one of the ones that gives me the most satisfaction would be cleaning the windows.
Sometimes you don’t really know how dirty they are until you clean them. I love clean windows!

    cldivineATyahooDOTcom

  42. The dishes (lucky, I guess since, there always seem to be tons to do!) It’s a happy day when the sink’s actually empty!

  43. I don’t mind doing the laundry because I can do other stuff while it;s getting washed.

  44. I like to wash the dishes..LOL

  45. I just got home from work, so I’m a little muddled. A favorite chore! OK I do like to clean out, you know, get rid of clothes, dishes, things you haven’t used in at least a year and that are collecting dust in your cupboards and closets. It gives me personal satisfaction when I see boxes or bags at my door to bring to the Salvation Army.

  46. Cooking. I love making a good meal.

  47. I really hate to spend time cleaning, can’t say there’s any one chore I like – maybe occasionally going through the junk draw to clean out, organize it.

  48. Absolutely nothing. There is nothing about cleaning or chores that I like. It is a necessary evil.

  49. Mopping

  50. I hate cleaning. It would be hard to come up with a single on so I guess I will go with changing the sheets. I love clean sheets.

  51. It’s a bit hard to find a chore I actually like doing, but I always like the end result of having a clean house. However, if I were to choose the one that is the least bothersome, I would have to go with doing the dishes.

  52. Organizing the bookshelves (is that classified as a chore?)
I do not mind doing laundry (as long as I do not have to fold it).

  53. Laundry—-I can do other things while is is washing and drying.

  54. Does cooking count? LOL

  55. I like to bake bread. I really like the process and the feel of accomplishment. And the smell of fresh baked bread is like nothing else.

  56. Laundry and folding clothes!

  57. It was interesting to read over all the comments. I was surprised to see how many people like washing dishes. I do love to fold warm laundry, especially in the wintertime when I dump the entire load on my lap right out of the dryer. 🙂

Anya, thanks so much for hosting this giveaway on your blog!

  58. Don’t put me in for this, I have it (this is not working well for me, I’ve enjoyed alot you posted here). Patrice is one of my favorites and read hers in ebooks and then prints too. They make wonderful re-reads! I discovered hers with her cowboys then went backwards then forward since!

  59. household chores, what are those? Actually I keep the dishes done and clothes washed. My fav chore would be vacuuming because Hubby does such a wonderful job at it. (ha! ha!)

  60. I don’t mind cleaning my glass household extras. Things like the light fixtures and the glass vases. The reason is because I save that for last and then stick them in the dishwasher. Since they are only done after the other cleaning is done – I don’t do it very often!

  61. The laundry! Love the warm, clean clothes out of the dryer and neatly put away!

  62. Is that a trick question??
Seriously, though, if I have to answer, I enjoy organizing.

  63. I dont mind vacuuming. But other then that I m not a fan of house chores.

  64. Laundry for me. I like how the clothes smell and the warmth when they come out of the dryer.

  65. Doing the dishes (with a dishwasher). 😀

  66. I like to do the Laundry the smelsl and the fresh out of the dryer feeling they all have and i love to dust my shelves with all my nick nacks and books its a guilty pleasure that i must confess takes a while because wellll i tend to dust each book off read the back draw the memory of what its about if ive read it or make a mental note to pick it up later and read sometimes i do confess i stop dusting and read said books lol

  67. I love to vacuum. I also like to wash clothes but I hate folding them. Especially cotton! lol!

  68. Which chore do I LIKE? Um, yes, none. But you know -if I HAVE to choose one… the floors. I’m nuts about it. If/when I get into true cleaning mode, I’m a monster.
I’ll sweep the floors. Then dry mop them. (If I’m SUPER ambitious I might vaccuum, then sweep. Seriously, it makes a difference on the hardwood/linoleum/tile.) After the dry mop, THEN I swiffer. Results? Amazing floor.

  69. I don’t mind washing dishes by hand because I absolutely hate to unload the dishwasher.

  70. Filing paperwork (i.e. bills, periodicals, documents from community/social organizations that I am a part of).

I normally do this for a hour (weekly) while watching/listening to a show on the television.

  71. Vacuuming isn’t TOO bad. It’s pretty funny watching the dog bark at the vacuum when he thinks it’s going to get him!

  72. I like doing laundry. I love the smell of clean clothes and the detergents & fabric softener smells good 🙂

    Hugssss
    LindaH

  73. I like dusting off my knick knacks, for some reason I find it fun to make all the little glass unicorns and bears shine. Maybe because they’re so pretty.

  74. I don’t mind dusting and putting all the clutter away. It suits my obsessive nature.
