CRUEL ENCHANTMENT ARCs

I have this lovely stack of ARCs to give away to book bloggers/reviewers. Do you have a blog? Do you review books? Interested in reviewing the second book of the Dark Magick series? If you are, please send me an email to anyabast (at) gmail.com with a link to your blog or where/how you would review the book.

I only have a limited supply of ARCs and I’m looking for maximum eyeball viewage, so blogs with lots of traffic will be weighted heavier in my selection process. Otherwise my decisions will be made on a first come, first serve basis. The only requirement I have is that the review be posted sometime during the first week of September, when the book releases. I will be holding a couple ARCs back for readers who don’t have book blogs/aren’t reviewers, so everyone will still have a shot at getting one. 🙂

In other news, an idea is percolating for a month-long contest here on my blog as a run up to the release of CRUEL ENCHANTMENT, so stay tuned for details.

Here are the lucky winners….

Heidi S. for TRACKING THE TEMPEST who wrote: “Why do I deserve to win???
The first 1/2 of the summer I spent 5 wks w/ cast on left ankle, then my son gets sick and he has to use nebulizer for breathing/ (all this happens on Sun,Father’s day) he kicks the table and knocks us backwards on to the floor, where my 60 lb son lands on my chest, go to hospital to have xrays , find I have 2 cracked ribs, before I leave they said my labs came back my potassium is very low and want me to take 3 pills before I leave, horse pills that is, I get them down but within 5mins, I was back in the room again vomiting continues, nonstop for 3 days, 8 IV’s, and Monday morning the decide to use the scope to check my stomach and throat. During the procedure, they crack one of my teeth w/ the scope… Burn throat, burnd stomach, I still have trouble eating , I can drink anything but eating is still hard.”

(OMG, Heidi, feel better soon!)

Janece S. for NIGHT MYST who wrote, “Why should I win? Wellll, let’s see…my birthday is on the 13th, and either would make an awesome gift, but even more so, because I have been on a weight loss journey since the first of the year and I have lost 59lbs so far!! Hoping to lose a total of 100 lbs within the next year. I NEED a new book to read while I ride the stationary bikes, right??” (Great job, Janece)

Sue A. for INSATIABLE who wrote: “INSATIABLE is what I am and what I want! It is not easy being away from home, taking care of a sick family member for months on end. I’m homesick, I need to forget my troubles and release some stress and escape into a book for a while.” (Sue – I hope your family member feels better soon and you can get some relief.)

Pat C. for BONDS OF JUSTICE who wrote: ”I’ve never read any of her works and for this I don’t deserve to win! But this would be an excellent opportunity for me to begin to know her books. A win would also give me a chance to read my first paranormal!” (I’m sure you’ll love it, Pat)

Winners, please email me at anyabast(at)gmail.com with your mailing address and I’ll get your prize in the mail. 🙂

Everyone, thank you for entering and (if you celebrate) have a FANTASTIC Fourth of July weekend filled with fun, family & fireworks and friends!

New Release Heaven

Wow! There are a TON of books that either just came out or are coming out that deserve attention.

Nicole Peeler’s second book in her JANE TRUE series released last Tuesday. I loved the first book in this series, TEMPEST RISING. For me, the story always hinges on the characters and Jane True is an awesome heroine.

Tracking the Tempest begins four months–and one eyebrow sacrificed to magical training–after the close of Tempest Rising. During that time, Jane’s been busy honing her supernatural powers and enjoying her newfound sense of confidence.

Rockabill may not yet be heaven, but she’s realized it’s home. Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, however, and Ryu–Jane’s bloodsucker boyfriend–can’t let a major holiday go by without getting all gratuitous. This time his shenanigans involve a last-minute ticket to Boston and a hefty dose of direct interference in her life. But Ryu’s best laid plans inevitably create more upheaval than even he can anticipate, and Jane winds up embroiled in an investigation involving a spree of gruesome killings committed by a being of tremendous power . . .

. . . who, much to Jane’s surprise, happens to be another halfling.

Also out last Tuesday is the first book in Yasmine Galenorn’s new INDIGO COURT series, NIGHT MYST. Yasmine is well known for her Sisters of the Underworld series and I have no doubt that this one will be every bit as exciting.

Eons ago, vampires tried to turn the Dark Fae in order to harness their power. Instead, they created a demonic enemy more powerful than they dared to dream. Bent on enslaving the world, the Vampiric Fae have been quietly massing their strength for centuries. Now, Myst, queen of the Indigo Court, is rising again…and a long-prophesied war is brewing…

Born a witch, Cicely Waters can control the wind. When her Elemental warns her that her aunt and cousin are in danger, she packs her Pontiac GTO and returns home for the first time in twenty years. But the magical town of New Forest, Washington has changed. The Indigo Court holds the city in fear; people are vanishing, and strange deaths plague the town. Swept into an unexpected and passionate reunion with her trusted childhood friend Grieve, the Fae prince who taught her how to harness the wind, Cicely finds herself with a fierce and territorial lover. But Grieve has become enslaved by Myst’s court, and now both lovers must walk a fine line to survive the machinations of the Vampiric Fae Queen. Caught between two evils, both vying for supremacy, Cicely must fight for her family and her future. As she discovers the hidden secrets to her own heritage, will she lose her soul in the process?

Releasing next Tuesday is Lauren Dane’s INSATIABLE. Uhm. That cover makes me swallow my tongue every damn time. This is Dane’s third book in her smoking hot FEDERATION series.

Desire is the most dangerous sensation of all.

With tensions between the Federation and Imperial ‘Verses rising, one woman may hold the key to victory. The dangerous mission to smuggle her out of Imperial Territory falls to Daniel Haws and his team, the ultra secret Phantom Corps. This elite squad of the Federation Military is the only one trusted and skilled enough to remove her from under the watchful eye of her father, the Supreme Commander of the Imperial ‘Verses.

Carina is used to wearing a mask. Her father and his men think her little more than a pretty prize to be won by a man more ruthless than the rest. When he announces his intention to marry her to one of his henchmen, a man known for his cruelty, Carina knows she has to move as soon as possible to get out. But getting secret information to the Federation has served her well for years and she appeals to them for help.

She expected rescue from a man who’d been her enemy. But she wasn’t prepared for just how intense her attraction to Daniel Haws would be. Born as adversaries into different ranks, and on the run for their lives, they now need each other to survive–by holding on to the only thing they have in common: a growing desire that is dangerous, irresistible, and insatiable…

Finally, this Tuesday will also see the release of Nalini Singh’s BONDS OF JUSTICE, the next book in her incredibly popular Psy/Changeling series.

Max Shannon is a good cop, one of the best in New York Enforcement. Born with a natural shield that protects him against Psy mental invasions, he knows he has little chance of advancement within the Psy-dominated power structure. The last case he expects to be assigned is that of a murderer targeting a Psy Councilor’s closest advisors. And the last woman he expects to compel him in the most sensual of ways is a Psy on the verge of a catastrophic mental fracture…

Sophia Russo is a Justice-Psy, cursed with the ability to retrieve memories from men and women so twisted even veteran cops keep their distance. Appointed as Max’s liaison with the Psy, she finds herself fascinated by this human, her frozen heart threatening to thaw with forbidden emotion. But, her mind filled with other people’s nightmares, other people’s evil, she’s standing on the border between sanity and a silken darkness that urges her to take justice into her own hands, to become judge, jury…and executioner…

Whew! I think that’s it.

Okay, I’m giving away copy of EACH of these books. FOUR winners, total. For a chance to win, state your preferred title and why you think you deserve to win the book (go ahead and get outrageous). This contest is open to international entrants and is void where prohibited. You have until Midnight eastern time on Friday, July 2nd to post a comment. I’ll announce the winner on Saturday morning.
