Book of the Day: What Happens in Vegas…After Dark

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.

Las Vegas… it’s the town that lives up to the promise of its nickname, Sin City. A gamblers’ paradise for innocent tourists, it conceals a darker, sexual world where the ethereal and wraithlike meet to play a different game….

If there’s one thing succubus Deitre understands it’s revenge. That, and enticing men into arousing, exciting and, okay, perilous sex (for him). Beautiful on the outside, demon on the inside, she’s going to get back at the naughty firefighter in Darkness…unless he plays his cards right.

Bounty hunter Nell is a hell of a tracker. Now she’s in Vegas on the tail of the witch who dared to steal from her clan. She’s going to get the unsavory harlot through the woman’s ex-finance, and nothing about their charged encounters will be shallow, quick or friendly.

When the half-blood fae male comes to Club Darkness, Elena can’t resist acting on the mind-blowing heat coursing between them. She might be betrothed to another, but fae culture says sex with other men until marriage is most definitely foretold.

Tattoo artist Devi is the latent vampire the warlocks need to heal all wounds. But taking her power is a sexually exhausting and dangerous task requiring dark deception…and gambling on her life.

Anya Bast’s story in this anthology is called THE PROMISE. It’s a prequel to THE DEAL, (WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS… the first anthology, released in 2008), and tells Damian’s story and how/why he came to jilt Cassidy at the altar on their wedding day.

  1. I’ve never been to Vegas, but it’s on my list of cities to visit. Which is a relatively short list as I’m not a city girl. It’s just one of those places I think everyone should see once.

  2. I went to Vegas many moons ago – before all the modern hotels were in place. I don’t smoke and don’t like to lose money, so it wasn’t the place for me.

  3. My brother used to travel to Vegas regularly for work and always raved about visting there but I’ve never managed to make it myself despite several attempts to plan a trip to try and see all the sights and a few shows. But I did love reading about all the possiblilies of it in the first What Happens in Vegas anthology.

  4. I’ve been to Vegas once, and it was okay. I’m not much of a gambler, so it wasn’t a huge deal to me. Although the hubby and I did do some other cool stuff. Went to the aquarium, took in a Cirque show, just walked along the strip. 😀

  5. I’ve never been….I’m not sure it’s my cup of tea since I’m not much of a gambler or lover of musicals and such, but I am a night owl so it would be nice to be in a place that was always open for business!

  6. I have lived in Las Vegas for the last 19 years and I love it! It is truly a unique place to live. A great mix of normal suburb living (well mostly normal) and a great tourist destination for when you feel like going out. The weather is great (you just don’t go outside when it’s 115+), it is very laid back and you are pretty much free to do your own thing. There is so much to do you can be as naughty or nice as you want to be! Viva Las Vegas!

  7. I’ve been to Vegas many years ago, and found it quite interesting. I enjoyed seeing all the different architecture of the hotels on the Strip, and all the shops. The water fountain at the Bellagio and its regular musical displays is pretty cool. 😎 Wouldn’t mind going back as I’m sure it’s changed a bit since then and I’d love to check it all out!

  8. Never been, dying to go. I just want to see what the buzz is about. I am not a gambler, so of course I want to see everything the place has to offer!
    Thanks for the chance!!!!

  9. I’ve never been, but would like to go. I like to go to feel the atmosphere of all the things I’ve heard about Vegas.

  10. I’ve never been to Vegas; but came close, a bunch of friends were supposed to go for a 50th birthday but the trip was canceled; so I’m still hopeful it will come.

  11. I’ve never been but would like to one day.. I’m not really into gambling so I’d be going for the food and shows..

  12. I’ve never been to Vegas but I would like to go there more for the sights and shows rather than the gambling.

  13. I’ve never been to Vegas. I’m not much of a gambler and if I went I would love to go see the shows rather than gamble!

  14. went there for a couple of days on a road trip to the grand canyon. I don’t like to spend money on nothing and I don’t drink. So it’s not the town for me. Espeically with kiddos. And it was extremely expensive to do anything other than gamble or drink. lol as long as you could gamble the drinks were free.

  15. I’ve never been to Las Vegas, but would love to visit it someday – it’s a city that never sleeps and that feeling must be incredible 🙂

  16. I’ve never been to Vegas and truthfully it doesn’t really appeal to me.

  17. I LOVE Vegas. I have been 3 times and I still can’t get enough. I love how everytime I go back it’s like it’s a new city. There is always something to do and it never gets old! Everytime I see a movie or t.v. show with Vegas as the setting it makes me really want to go back. It’s just awesome!

  18. I have never been to Vegas but I think I would like to go. I think that it is a place that you should see once. I think I would just like to walk around and take in the sights. Maybe play some.

  19. No, I’ve never been to Vegas but would definitely like to! Seen it plenty of times on TV and would really want to stay at one of those fabulous hotels, see all those shows and gamble at the tables!

  23. I’ve never been to Vegas but I’ve always wanted to go. I always said that if I ever get married (and that’s a huge if since I love being alone) I will go to Vegas and do it at the Elvis Chapel.

  24. I’ve never been. 😥 My brother and his family have been a couple of times and they always have so much fun. Would love to go someday.

  25. Never been to Vegas… would like to go see the sights, not into gambling…

  26. Oh, I loved Vegas. Unfortunately, it was many years ago. My father-in-law lived in Phoenix and we were able to vist at the same time maybe 3 or 4 times. He’s been gone for a while now and from what I hear it’s a completely different place . I would love to go back some day.

  27. never been to Vegas, although we made it to Tahoe and Reno. I’d love to go there though – both for the shows and the gambling!!

  28. I’ve never been, but my oldest brother lives and works in Vegas and I’ve always wanted to go visit him.

  29. I’ve never been. Although not really into gambling, I’d love to take in some of the shows!

  30. I’ve been to Vegas a couple times. I really enjoyed just because there’s something going on at all times.

  33. I’ve never been to Vegas and not really interested in going. Who knows, maybe I’ll change my mind one of these days!

  34. I have hit the strip. It is amazing for a quick vacation or if you like the shows and entertainment. The hotels are like amusement parks and all the lights are something to see. I stayed in a hotel that had a glass elevator and the nicest suite I have ever seen, thank goodness it wasn’t out of my pocket. I think everyone should see it at least once just for the wow factor.

  35. I have been to Vegas once and absolutely loved it. My friend lives there now and really likes the town and area.

  36. Yes, I’ve been to Vegas a few times, and it’s fun to visit–it would be fun to take the kids some time, although only for the family stuff 🙂

  37. Vegas has changed since the last time I have been there (and that was when they were building the New York New York Hotel). The things I like about Vegas are visiting the hotels, shopping and their live shows. The show I really would love to see currently is the Lion King and the two hotels I would like to visit are the Venetian and the Caesar Palace. (The Caesar Palace would be a revisit.) The Caesar Palace will never ever go out of style no matter how much Vegas will change in the future.

  38. I love Vegas and everything about it. I even got married there.

  39. I have been to Las Vegas and for the most part I really enjoyed it. We stayed at the Luxor and that was amazing. We also walked along the strip and went into some fo the casinos there and had fun. We also went to the part that was part of the original Vegas and it was interesting to see the way things have changed over time.

  40. I’ve never been, but my best friend and I agreed that if we ever go we’ll go crazy doing anything and everything we could possibly want to do (because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas 😀 )
