A fitting answer to lead into today’s book……
With the immense powers of an earth witch, Claire isn’t destined to be a demon’s handmaiden. Yet this has been her fate since she was six, when her warlock mother brought her to Eudae. Now as an adult, she’s about to discover her true power—and how far others are willing to go to take it away…
As part of a mission with the Coven, Adam Tyrell rescues Claire from her enslavement—and finds himself immediately taken with the beautiful witch. But this charming playboy soon learns that it’s easier to steal Claire from demons than win her heart, for her life as a servant has ravaged her spirit. But with Adam determined to protect her from the warlocks who want to harness her magick for evil, Claire’s resistance starts to give way—and they find themselves in the heat of danger, surrendering to the lure of their deepest desires…

So this is a hard choice for me because I could certainly go on and on. But I think I’d go with The Jungle Book or Charlotte’s Web. Both definitely changed my outlook when I was younger.
by Rae M. June 5th, 2011 at 7:21 amI’m kind of like Emily, I watched the first twilight movie and couldn’t wait for the rest of the movies to come out so I went to the library and got the New Moon book. After I read that book I couldn’t stop I read them all, now I read all the time I love books.

by elaing8 June 5th, 2011 at 11:20 amDean Koontz’s book Watchers ignited my love of reading as well as Golden Retrievers. Although my Gold Retriever has many characteristics that remind me of Einstein, her name is Cody.
by ChrisS June 5th, 2011 at 11:26 amI was reading a little before Kindergarten, and finished Kindergarten with being able to easily read most books that were put in front of me. For Christmas in 1st grade, I receive a starter set of 2 Nancy Drew and 2 Hardy Boys books. While I was able to read before that, those books catapulted me into the “voracious reader” category – and my life-long love affair with reading began, along with my first reading love of mysteries, which expanded to include many other genres as I grew older.
by Marie June 5th, 2011 at 11:26 amJohn Jakes THE BASTARD did it for me when I was 14. I named my first son after one of the characters because I liked him so much.

by minhchieu tran June 5th, 2011 at 12:49 pmThe name of the book was “Lydia”, I was 11, it was the first book that I had read over 300 pages and it was an adult novel. I was staying with a friend of my mother’s because my parents were splitting up. I have tried to find the book again- it was a lovely adventure of a little girl who is kidnapped in the period of Mary of Scotts- escapes her capture and is trained to pick pocket by other children- it was my escape during a very troubled time- Has anyone any leads? I would love to read it again. (No, don’t remember the author’s name 🙁 )

by Darci Paice-Bailey June 5th, 2011 at 2:50 pmI cannot think of a book that had a major impact on my life, but I can think of an event that revolves around reading. In 6th grade we were told who were going to receive the Presidential Award for Excellence, or something like that, that dealt with our grades in certain areas of learning from 4th-6th grade. I was not on that list because I got like a B or something in Reading in the 4th grade. It was because I considered myself one of the top of the class and I was not receiving this award that pushed me to start reading more.
by Ashley L June 5th, 2011 at 4:35 pmThe book I am currently reading

The first Harry Potter book, back then I didn’t realize that I could read something that big. It opened up many more books for me and reading the next two (only the first three were out at the time) made me think that I could write something like that.

by Maria D. June 5th, 2011 at 5:42 pmI’m not sure that this book changed my life, but it did allow me to understand things that were occuring in my life a bit better. The book is Passages, Predictible Crises of Adult Life by Gail Sheehy and was published in the mid 70’s. I’ve read it a couple of times, especially when I was experiencing a ‘crisis’.
