Today’s book……

Even the most powerful hands need a delicate touch…

Emmaline Gallagher is a master of wielding personal glamour. As a free fae who lives among humans, she must hide her true self at all times as she works undercover within the powerful Phaendir—for if certain factions within the Phaendir gain control, the fae will be wiped from existence. Now, an object of fae power lies within a locked ancient box. And there is only one fae who can forge the key.

Known as “the Blacksmith” Aeric O’Malley can create or destroy almost anything with his forging skills. Emmaline has come to him in need, but he and Emmaline have a past—and he has spent centuries wanting to take revenge on her for her transgressions. But now that he has her within his grasp, something about her keeps him from exacting his vengeance—or is it merely her glamour blinding him?

Trapped by fate, Emmaline must hope that she can reach Aeric’s furious heart before it’s too late….

  1. Love Changeling Dream by Dani Harper. A wounded hero who has to come in from the wilderness, and a young woman he once rescued but does not know his secrets. She has to travel to him and then discover her own secrets. So there is mystery, loving, and a full shifter society. Also the writing is wonderfully descriptive without getting in the way of the flow of the story. Read this story when it was with a different publisher and the story of the heart broken wolf stayed with me.

  2. The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. It has Magic, Fantasy, Mystery, Empowered women and hot men, sex. In otherwords it has it all.

  3. Moon Called by patricia Briggs, it’s a story how helped me when i was devastated by my father’s illness and it helped me alot. A strong heroine, alone but not as much as she think and a man who love her so much that i give her the time she need

    perfect

  12. I have so many bookshelves, I love Gone With The Wind, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Shakespeare, Dickens, Verne, the classics..but I have some “bodice rippers” that I could not let go of, Woodiss, McNaught, Hill, Lindsey, I also have non fiction on metaphysical subjects. When it comes to books I love to be surrounded by them, I will just buy another bookshelf.

  13. cky15: I have so many that I have: Love the following Cheryl brooks-Cat star chronicles; Jaquelyn Frank-Night Walkers; Julia Templeton-all her books; Terry Spear-Werewolf books. I love the different range of type of books that I read. I listen to music when I read my books so that when I hear that song I remember the story that I read. I also have several books of yours too that is on my shelf. Love them!

  14. I have a lot of mystery books that I won’t let go, but the one romance that started me on my road of reading romances is This Calder Sky by Janet Dailey, enjoyable characters that tugged at my heart.

  15. One of my all time favorites is Second Chances and it’s sequel Believe by Lauren Dane.

  16. I have soooo many favorites! I do not have just one favorite book. I think I would have to say the entire Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward. You have all these totally sexy vampires, who have completely different personalities. The stories that formed each of them bring tears to your eyes. The women that end up loving them are amazing. Great writing! Very entertaining! (I also LOVE the Dark Magic Novels!!!)

  17. My keeper shelves have lots of books. Amongst them, one of my favourites is The Bride by Julie Garwood. I just love the storyline, the hero and heroine and everything! I’ve reread this book so many times.

  18. Naked in Death by JD Robb – I love the relationship between Roarke and Eve and also the futuristic police story.

  19. The Hobbit is on my kepper shelf. My Dad gave me that book in my teens one Christmas. He started me on a whole new journey with books. It was also the book I read to him when he was dying…he couldn’t talk, but I knew he was alert, so I brought the book and read it out loud to him…we never finished it.
My Dad was ahead of his time, he bought me books on records and if I wanted any scholastic books, he never limited my list. 🙂 He even brought me the Rolling Stone (newspaper at theat time) so I could read about current events.

  20. I have a bunch of books on my keeper shelves… one of my favs is Catherine Coulter’s The Sherbrooke Bride… it was one of the first Historicals I read that got me hooked on reading romance… loved the characters and the way the author brought them to life… have not been without a book at hand since!

  21. I love House of Leaves. It always has new things to find in it and is just interesting to read.

  22. witch fire, because it is the first book i ever read by you, and is the one that started my fascination with paranormal romance

  23. I will always keep my copy of Kushiel’s Dart by Jacqueline Carey. She drew me into an intricate world that I loved getting to know.

  24. Dean Koontz’s Lightening. My mom gave it to me to read when I was like 8 or 9 because I was getting so bored reading kids books. I was way past my age level and the book has always just stuck with me. It was a really great story too. Thanks,

  25. Night Play by Sherrilyn Kenyon

I have read this book at least 10 times. I love how it has a ‘larger’ heroine. I like that the heroine isn’t a size 6, AND that the hero loves that about her. He stands up for her on everything and that is just awesome.

The book is also well written.

  26. Bound by Flame by Anna Windsor. So many emotions in that book. I never tire of reading it.
    Thanks for doing contest

  27. I had my book of all the works of Edgar Allen Poe on my book shelf for as long as I can remember…. my husband says the book creeps him out but I love it!!

  28. sorry ALLAN not Allen sorry about that

  29. One? Oh… oh gosh. How about I compromise and do a series? Only one though… Okay two! The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher and the DragonKeeper Chronicles by Donita K. Paul. Both series are just amazing, though DragonKeeper is aimed somewhat at younger readers. Still, among all my “keepers”, and there are a lot, these hold some of the top spots.

  30. One book on my keeper shelf is Julie Garwood’s “The Bride.” It was the first romance I read and that’s what made me romance fan to this day.

  31. Well there’s probably a lot of books on my keeper shelf, to be completely honest probably all of them are on my keeper shelf for one reason or another.

One book in particular that I seem to come up with almost everytime I have to answer a question like this is Night Play by Sherrilyn Kenyon, I think it was one of the first books in her were-hunter series that I read.

I just really fell in love with both of the main characters, and it was also more then the story line that kept me interested. It was the fact that the characters really needed each other and really went through heck and high water to be together!

  32. i am not sure that i can pick just one book there are a couple that stand out more then others like the bargain by julia templeton, nicholas by elizabeth amber they stick out alot because they are just awsome reads

  33. Naked in Death by JD Robb. I came across this series by accident, so I got a chance to read the first three books back to back and have been hooked ever since. Love watching Eve Dallas grow under the love of her oh so amazing hubby, Roarke.

  34. A favorite keeper book on my shelf is The Pack by Jason Starr (a werewolf novel). It’s hard to choose just one, and I’m looking forward to reading many of yours that look amazing. Great covers (some of the best I’ve seen)! Thanks for the contest…..would love to win a copy of Cruel Enchantment.

  35. My all time favorite is Lover Mine. Zsadist is such a tortured soul that feels he is not capable or deserving of love. I loved his happy ending!

  36. I’m going to have to say the Twilight saga for the simple fact that those books are the reason I now love to read.

    Pam

  37. Ghost Story by Peter Straub. I’ve had the book for almost 30 years and read it each fall. It is falling apart and held together wit rubber bands!

  38. Nearly all the Valdemar books by mercedes Lackey

  39. I pondered this question for a while and finally decided HIGHLAND BRIDE by Hannah Howell. This book has stuck with me over the years. I so admired the heroine Gillyanne. She wasn’t a wait around kind of gal and she definitely thought outside the box even if she was in historic Scotland. Hannah crafts a delightful story and my toes curl for a deep brogue purring highland warrior, sigh

  40. Just one! I have lots on my multiple keeper shelves! My favorite of my keeper books is Pride and Prejudice. I love the book and read it often. I like variations of it and will often buy ones just to read more about the characters in it. I love the relationship Elizabeth has with her family members. I love the unrealistic “coincidental” meetings she and Darcy have. I love how they both change and become better after knowing each other. Everything about the book makes me happy.

  41. I love Julie Garwood’s Ransom. There are some great interactions between the hero and heroine that will have your laughing

  42. I think mine would be Dragonsong and dragonsinger by Anne Mccaffrey. The main character of Menolly just resonated with me as a singer.

  43. Well, technically I don’t have my keeper shelves anymore because I lost everything in the May tornado. But on my old keeper shelves, I had all of JD Robb’s In Death series. Guess I’ll have to get them again.

  44. Wow.. To only pick one book I think I would have to pick Night World by L. J. Smith. She is a great author and that was the first series I read that lead me into this wonderful work of paranormal.

  45. If I could only choose one book to keep it would be Kushiel’s Dart by Jacqueline Carey. I would choose it because it has everything from thriller, mystery, romance, intrique, world building. I simply couldn’t put it down. And when I got done, I wanted more right away.

  46. The Host by Stephanie Meyer. I loved the heroine in it. She is so strong and cares with her whole heart.

  47. Pride and Prejudice is on my keeper shelf because it is the first book that I determined was a favorite of me due to the characters, writing, and the plot.

  48. Mark of the Vampire Queen because its one of the best books I’ve ever read. The characters are fabulous, the plot is dynamic, and I love Joey’s writing style.

  49. The whole Dark-Hunter series… I love this series for many reasons, but one of the big reasons is how Kenyon uses old myths and legends, gods and goddesses, along with GREAT writing =)

  50. One of the keepers is Devil in Winter (Kleypas)–I just love that whole redemption thing Sebastian’s going through, albeit reluctantly, and Evie is such a lovely heroine–stronger than she knows and bold enough to stand up to him… such a pleasure to read their unlikely journey to love 🙂
