I Went Away, So You Get Cool Stuff Contest

I had a booksigning at Rose’s Bookhouse in O’Fallon, Mo., this past weekend. Rose’s Bookhouse is a really awesome indy bookstore near St. Louis. Check it out, if you can. While there I picked up the latest release from each of the lovely authors I signed with. This is your chance to win one of their signed books!

First up is The Lure of Song and Magic (I love that title), by Patricia Rice….

Her voice was a curse…

When Dylan “Oz” Oswin’s son is kidnapped, the high-powered producer will do anything to get him back. Desperately following an anonymous tip, he seeks help from a former child singing sensation called Syrene, only to find she’s vowed never to sing again. Immune to her voice but not her charm, Oz is convinced she holds the key to his son’s disappearance-and he’ll stop at nothing to make her break her vow.

Only he can make her sing …

She knows the devastation her talent can bring. There’s more than a child’s life at stake, but Syrene cannot unleash her dangerous siren’s voice upon the world, even for a man who is impossible to deny…

Next is debut author, Heather Snow with Sweet Enemy….

Sweet Enemy…
A Veiled Seduction Novel ~ Book One

Geoffrey Wentworth, a war hero and rising political star, never wanted to be the Earl, but when his brother dies, he knows his duty—take up the responsibility for his family’s estates. His mother’s definition of duty differs from his, however, and can be summed up in one word—heirs. When Geoffrey rushes home to answer her urgent summons, he finds himself host to a house full of women, all vying to become the next Countess of Stratford. But his love is Parliament, where he wields his influence and reputation to better the lives of ex-soldiers, until a tempting houseguest and a secret from his past threaten his freedom…and his heart.

Liliana Claremont, a brilliant chemist, doesn’t want to be any man’s wife, much less a Countess. If she had tuppence for every time she’d been told her place was filling the nursery, not experimenting in the laboratory, she could buy the Tower Bridge. However, when she receives a coveted invitation to the Earl’s house party, she trades in her beakers for ball gowns and gladly takes on the guise of husband hunter—for the chance to uncover what the Earl had to do with the murder of her father.

Liliana believes the best way to get the answers she needs is to keep her enemy close, though romance is not part of her formula. But it only takes one kiss to start a reaction she can’t control…

And, finally, Always a Temptress, by Eileen Dreyer…

His greatest battle is just beginning . . .

Captain Harry Lidge has done his duty. After losing too many good men on the battlefield, he’s ready to put his responsibilities behind him and live a life free of care. But first he has one last mission: find out what the most outrageous woman in London, the same woman who betrayed him nearly a decade earlier, is concealing, before her secrets take down the crown.

Her heart is the only thing she won’t risk . . .

Surrounded by ardent admirers and a few loyal friends, Lady Kate Seaton glides through the ton on a confection of couture gowns and bon mots. No one suspects that beneath her lighthearted façade Kate hides a sorrow so scandalous she’ll do anything to keep it hidden. But only when she trusts Harry with the truth and only when he trusts her with his heart can they stop the villains all too willing to kill Kate to attain their ultimate goal: destroy England

  1. I have never been to a book signing but would love to go to one. Up until August I lived in Western North Carolina and for some odd reason that seems to be a place that NOBODY ever goes too…or at least nobody I follow. Now living in Orlando FL I am hoping to be able to catch a few more authors and people coming to a more popular city.

  2. I love author talks, but rarely stay for Q&A and book signings. I get so nervous when people ask questions (be they awkward, gushing ramblings, or criticism).

But I did camp out to be one of the first in line when La Nora came to my college town. 🙂

  3. I have never been to a book signing. I have always wanted to go to one. Thanks for the contest.

  4. Hi Anya, I’ve been to book signing twice and I enjoy it. I try my best to find any book signing but unfortunately the time schedule for book signing almost always can’t match my time table:(. So that’s why I can managed to come to book signing only twice:(. Happy valentine to you Anya:)

  5. I’ve never been to a book signing but I’ve always wanted to go to one. I have received signed books before though. Thanks for the contest!

  6. I live in the Uk and to be honest we don’t get many people coming to my area to sign books, ifthey do it is usually local area authors writing about about there childhood, interesting but ot my cup of tea. My favourite authors are American so obviously they never arrive, though Sherrilyn Kenyon coming this year so I can only hope. I am to sure I would actually be able to speak or just stare and hand my book to be signed . Awestruck I think. -)

  9. I love book signings and I try to go to them as often as I can. I think it’s a great way for the reader to interact with the author.

  10. I have not gone to a book signing… I think I will one of these days…

  11. I have been looking for signing near me for a while and I hope to make it to RWA in LA this year but not sure if I can yet. If there was one close for someone I like I would be there with bells on.
I finished Midnight Enchantment and LOVED IT!!! I hope you might have more in store for us in that world, But while I wait I will enjoy your others

  13. Have always wanted to go to a book signing. There are any number of authors I would LOVE to meet. Not sure how you find out about book signings. Something to look into!

  14. Hello Anya,
My very first book signing ever was on Saturday at Rose’s Bookstore 🙂 it was so awesome meeting you, Patricia, Heather and Eileen!! You all were so amazingly nice & warm to each and everyone of us there. I can’t wait to start reading all the books that I purchased & will treasure the experience & your autographs always. Hope to see you at another book signing again in the future.
    Many Blessings,
    Dawn

  17. I love book signings! I become a total fan girl whenever I do go to one.

  18. I’ve been to one book signing and it was fun. It was for a local author and she took the time to speak to everyone.

I would like to attend a convention and meet several authors I like.

  19. I love book signings! I go to them whenever I can. I love when there are multiple authors so I can discover someone new. I live near Portland, OR and every fall we have a fantastic book/author convention called Wordstock…it is a blast!!! Tons of new authors and so many books to discover!! 🙂

  20. I have never been to a book signing, there is rarely any where I live, I would like to go to one someday! Love to discover new authors

  21. I just got my first signed books last year, up until then, I hadn’t really thought about it, but I think they make great gifts plus I like them myself. I don’t get to go to signings much, since I live in hickville, but I love that some authors are doing signings through bookstores that you can pre-order and get personalized. I am always watching for those now.

  22. I have never had a chance to go to a book signing, there are not that many here in Central Florida. I keep up with my favorite authors and where they are going to be and if they ever come this way, I will be there.
    Thanks for the contest.

  23. I think they’re a great idea, but haven’t had the chance to attend one yet.

  24. I do enjoy book signings. I wished they would happen more and on the weekends, so I can meet my favorite authors. I would totally try to meet all my beloved authors, if I could! Thank you for the giveaway! :oD

  25. I don’t attend booksignings very often. I enjoy speaking with authors but I much rather have a picture with an author than an autograph!

  26. I love booksignings and try to go to as many as possible. A book can become even more precious (for the reader) with an autograph and maybe a few words from the author, specially for the reader.
And it always a pleasure to meet the authors in person, wether they’re what we expected or not.

I just wish around in my country (Portugal) book signings were more frequent.

  27. I have never been to a book signing. They really don’t do that around here. I always wanted to get a signed book though & finally did get that when Caridad Pineiro sent me a signed copy. I have it in a special box. I am very proud of that book. happy Valentine’s day.—Rachel

  28. I love book signings and I wish I could attend more of them!

  29. I love book signings! At least whenever anyone comes to where I live.

And if I could travel to other places for them I would, but can’t always get away.
There have been more happening close by recently. So I get to go to one or two a year.

  30. I loved booksignings but all of my local bookstores have pretty much closed down. I do take books with me to conventions however.

  31. Hope you had a good trip! The books look great and I’ve enjoyed all of the authors’ works before. It was nice of you to pick up signed copies for a giveaway!

I’ve never been to a book signing, but would love to go to one.

  32. I have never attended a book signing in a bookstore. I have attended two book conferences with signings and I really enjoyed them. Of course, I was a paid participant so I got to go to the signing before the public. Yes, that was really nice!

  33. I’ve been to lots of signings and I’ve hosted lots of signings!! When Waldenbooks was still open I was a manager at one and in charge of all the events. I put together alot of signings. It was quite fun. I met alot of great people and authors. It’s very interesting to talk to them to about their ideas and just tell them how much you appreciate them. Even though sometimes the turn outs aren’t always what you’d expect. 🙂

  36. I have only ever been to one book signing. I loved it! I was all nerves and excitement until it was my turn and then I was speechless. I could only get out ‘your awesome’, all the time with this huge grin. It made my whole year when she offered to have a photo with me!!

  37. hi anya, i enjoy book signings, i want to go to them but they are never usually anywhere near me
