Book of the Day: What Happens in Vegas…After Dark

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.

The winner of yesterday’s book, a copy of Lauren Dane’s upcoming release, Inside out, is Cecile, who said, “Oh I am a cover hussy! I absolutely love covers… With hot guys on them, beautiful colors, attention to details…. but… most of all… I love when the cover tells me the story of the book with one look! And eyes… I love eyes on the cover! Thank you for such a great contest!” Congrats, Cecile! Please drop me an email at anyabast(at)gmail.com within two weeks of this post date to collect your prize.

Las Vegas… it’s the town that lives up to the promise of its nickname, Sin City. A gamblers’ paradise for innocent tourists, it conceals a darker, sexual world where the ethereal and wraithlike meet to play a different game….

If there’s one thing succubus Deitre understands it’s revenge. That, and enticing men into arousing, exciting and, okay, perilous sex (for him). Beautiful on the outside, demon on the inside, she’s going to get back at the naughty firefighter in Darkness…unless he plays his cards right.

Bounty hunter Nell is a hell of a tracker. Now she’s in Vegas on the tail of the witch who dared to steal from her clan. She’s going to get the unsavory harlot through the woman’s ex-finance, and nothing about their charged encounters will be shallow, quick or friendly.

When the half-blood fae male comes to Club Darkness, Elena can’t resist acting on the mind-blowing heat coursing between them. She might be betrothed to another, but fae culture says sex with other men until marriage is most definitely foretold.

Tattoo artist Devi is the latent vampire the warlocks need to heal all wounds. But taking her power is a sexually exhausting and dangerous task requiring dark deception…and gambling on her life.

If you could pick one city in the world to visit for a week, all expenses paid, what city would you choose and why?

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.

  1. I would definitely pick Rome, and not just because I’m Catholic 😉
It is such an interesting city, with a huge range of different types of people living there. Plus, it is so amazingly old…so much history, and the architecture of the buildings-awesome…. and then there the hot Italian men 😀

  2. Venice at Carnival because I’ve always wanted to see the costumes and ride the waterways seeing the architechture

  3. Las Vegas. I always wanted to go to Las Vegas. Here in Germany…well, I actually cannot compare Germany to Las Vegas. I just know that I want to go there 🙂

  4. I would probably have to say Las Vegas i have never been and all expenses sounds right for one of the most expensive towns, just thinking about it makes me smile.

  5. I think I’d have to choose Honolulu. The water just looks so beautiful. I’d love to just sit on the beach in the sun and READ!!!

  6. Edinburgh, Scotland, because that is where my grandparents came from, would love to know their beginnings.

  7. London! Even though I have never been there, I absolutely in love with this city!

  8. I would go to St. Petersburg. It’s called the Venice of the East, and is absolutely beautiful, but you also get to absorb the added interest of a post-USSR society, which an online friend of mine is currently blogging about, being there on vacation himself. Also, my inner environmental scientist is fascinated by the ecology of the area, and how it’s been destroyed, and what could be done to try to fix it.

  9. I’d have to go with Paris. It’s so beautiful there!

  10. all expenses paid?? then I’ve to choose New York 😎 it would be fantastic to visit NY, but I doubt a week would be enough…

  11. Definitly Vegas. Me and my friends normally go every year for 1 week but because of money issues we didn’t go this year. So if I could go and have all expenses paid I’d be on a plane in a heartbeat

  12. This is a hard question. There are a few cities I would love to visit.

I’ve been to quite a few around the world but, I would really love to visit Edinburg, in August, when the festival is on. That would be totally awesome.

Not to mention those sexy accents…hehe!!!

    Valerie
    in Germany
who is originally from London, England and has only spent one short, rainy, weekend in Scotland.

  13. Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

They have West Edmonton Mall, which is touted as the largest shopping mall in North America (and was the largest in the world until 2004). I am not interested in all the shopping, though (as they have over 800 stores/services). I would love to stay in several of their onsite hotel fantasy suites. I would spend each day either ice skating or going to the pool area. They have a huge wave pool, tons of long slides, and a tube slide where I could stay the entire week. When a break was needed, I would enjoy eating at one of their many restaurants.

  14. I would go to Greece (I know, not a city!) and just soak up all the culture and history that is there 🙂

  15. Wow, that’s a tough one. There are soooo many places that I want to travel to. I think if I had to pick just one it would have to be Tokyo. I really want to go there and it’s super expensive to fly over there.

  16. Anywhere in Scotland, just always been fascinated by it.

  17. Sydney Australia. I have always dreamed about going there.

  18. I’ve never been to New Orleans and have always wanted to go. I don’t think I’d want to go during Mardi Gras because it’s too crowded for my taste but I’d love to go during the fall. That would be the perfect temperature for both swamp and cemetery tours.

  19. Oh gosh such a simple question with so many options, I would have to say Dublin, Ireland. I have always been fascinated with Celtic culture, I must have been Irish in another life lol.

  20. I would choose Tokyo because I’ve always had a fascination with Japan and would love to experience the urban, hectic surroundings of Tokyo.

  21. I would pick Germany. I lived there for 4 years before I moved back to the states. It was the only place that actually felt like home to me. It is beautiful there and I love the weather.

  22. I would go to Holland. That is where my mom was born and I’d love to go see where she grew up.

  23. My city to visit would Cairo, Egypt. I have always been fascinated with the Egypt history and their pharaohs and queens.

  24. New York City. Im not sure I can put in writing why I want to visit. It seems so alive and exciting, Ive always wanted to visit there and would love the chance.

  25. I would have to say Las vegas especially if all expenses are paid for because that wouldnt be to cheep

Anya I love love love “What Happen in Vegas… After Dark” !!!

  26. Munich, no question. I was there once already, but the trip was much to short. I would love to really explore… 😀

  27. Rome, because I have always wanted to go!

  28. I would have to say Honolulu. I have already done Paris. I would need more than a week in England (and that area)! But from Honolulu you can visit all of the Hawaii islands easy and quickly! (And if all expenses are paid, it wouldn’t matter it one had to take a heli to save time, right? hehe)

Thanks for this contest, I have the first book, but not After Dark!
    Vicky

  35. It would have to be Las Vegas! We always said we were going for vacation or a long weekend holiday but have never done it. Don’t know why, guess we just never got around to it.

  36. Prague. I spent about 5 minutes touring the city on a bus taking me from the airport to the train terminal and would love to go back and actually SEE the city. It’s called the Paris of East Europe and from my glimpse I could see why. All that history and culture just waiting to be soaked up by an eager tourist.

  37. So many choices! But I’m going to go with Glasgow in Scotland. I have always wanted to go although I think a week might not be long enough!

  38. Athens, Greece. I think that it would be absolutely gorgeous and wonderful to see the architechure and ruins that is there.

  39. I would visit the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. I would love to see the pyramids of Giza.

  40. I spent the first week of this month in Rome and Venice. I would choose to go back to Venice for another week. It was easy to navigate (I only got lost twice) and it has a small town feel. Everyone was lovely and you cannot beat the view. I would recommend everyone visit this gorgeous city. Just remember to bring a lot of flats. Getting in and out of water taxis in heels is suicide! 😉

  41. I’d pick Paris because of the history, family, food, and art.

  42. I’d love to go to Edinburgh, Scotland. It’s oh so romantic and laid back with lots of history just outside your window.

  47. I would love to go to Rome, and enjoy all the food and history.

  48. Tokyo, Japan. It’s so metropolitan and cutting edge, I want to be there in the middle of things.

  49. Ireland, of course! Most of my ancestors came from there, and I want to see Powerscourt, this wonderful estate that used to belong to one of my family’s branches a looong time ago. And of course, I can’t say no to a pub crawl with all that great live music! Oooh, and I’d just have to see where they make John Powers Irish whiskey and Bailey’s Irish Cream…
