The winner of yesterday book, WICKED BURN, is Ashley L., who said, “Jennifer Ashley and her Shifters series. I won a free copy of Primal Bonds, the second in the series. I’m slowly working my way through her other works.”
Today’s book……
A water witch, Isabelle Novak has always led a chaotic, nomadic existence. But her life spins out of control when her sister—her only friend and emotional anchor—is killed by a demon. Driven by grief and a desire for revenge, she turns her back on the Coven and the rede they hold sacred: Harm thee none…
When Isabelle first encounters Thomas Monahan, she’s running on pure rage and sorrow, channeling her pain into power—and trying to freeze the life out of a warlock she holds responsible for her sister’s death. Together, they form an uneasy alliance to hunt and destroy a demon of tremendous power. As head of the Coven, earth witch Thomas must thwart Isabelle’s dark impulses, but his very presence stirs deeper desires she never knew she had…

Describe to me your perfect mate with all the qualities you dream he or she might possess.
Well honestly, I don’t know if there’s a perfect mate out there for me although it would be really nice if there was. *Sigh.*
Anyway since I’m thinking about it, I’d have to say that my perfect mate would have to be sweet, maybe a little kind, but also tough when he needs to be.
I want to be able to have intelligent conversations with him but I don’t want to feel like an idiot around him either; so I guess what I’m saying is I like smarts but I don’t want want a brainiac I already have to deal with that when my brother comes home.
I’m inexperienced in a lot of things, so if he wants to teach me or guide me into something he’d have to be patient with me because that would show that he cares enough about me that he’s willing to give me extra time with certain things.
Looks wise; well I have to admit I might be a teeny bit judgmental when it comes to looks even though I don’t try to be.
I’d appreciate a little muscle but not like a bodybuilder I want him to care about himself but not in a narcissistic or egotistical kind of way. He’d have either shoulder length hair in a ponytail or short hair, I also don’t really mind bald but I like something I can run my fingers through.
I’d like him to have either dark brown eyes, maybe almost black, or hazel or green that’s my favorite color.
Then again maybe I’d also like a combination of these traits because I also wouldn’t mind if he was a bit of a bad boy, sort of like I don’t know… the kind of guy that acts like a jerk to everyone else but is decent and kind to the people that know him best.
I want to be able to bring out the side that I know he doesn’t let other people see very often. Then again maybe I’m asking for too much. Ya think?
Thanks for the giveaway! And good luck with the new book! 😎
by Gabrielle J. May 27th, 2011 at 6:24 amSorry, I didn’t mean to make that so long! 😐
by Gabrielle J. May 27th, 2011 at 6:24 amI can’t even put together a real answer to that, sorry.
by Lauren May 27th, 2011 at 7:11 amA wicked sense of humor, strong, protective, loyal, supportive, nurturing, strong moral code, and good with children and animals. As to the physical, I like beautiful blue eyes and auburn hair.
by Marlene Breakfield May 27th, 2011 at 7:19 amwelll i think this is a tough one to answer. i guess just a few of the things would be smart, funny, capable of showing affection without being embarassed about it,strong, good work ethic, strong family values, strong morals, love of children but okay with not having any of his own as i can’t have them(or should have them already, and of course should love me above all others. i know that sounds like a long list but there is always more you can add once you think about it.
by tammy ramey May 27th, 2011 at 7:22 amFor me, my “perfect” mate is a man who makes me feel cherished. Whenever I look at him, I smile with the knowledge that he loves me for me – with all my flaws. He makes me still feel the thrill of tingles and a quick heart beat when he smiles or winks at me. My mate can pull me back when things are chaotic and calm me. He lets me rant and rave, then will open his arms for me to step inside, hug me close and whisper his love for me. My mate lets me be me with no questions. My mate may not be “perfect” on every aspect, but he is “my perfect mate” – my mate, my lover, my husband, the father of my children and my friend – he is the love of my life!
Thank you for for writing incredible books! I love reading and enjoy the “reading vacations” everytime I pick up a book. 😀
by Sandi L. May 27th, 2011 at 7:34 amI want a good looking man that likes to read and is my equal in intelligence. He should have a great sence of humor, like the outdoors, like guns, hunting, love all dogs, especially standard poodles, and just an overall nice guy. I divorced my husband of 22 years for a not keeping it in his pants and his lack of equal intelligence. It just gets to you after a while that he can’t keep up with the affairs of the world or anything else in life.
by Lisa Diel May 27th, 2011 at 7:47 ami do love a man who can handle thangs in the bedroom…but does not try to be sooo controlling outside of it…its always a plus if he could cook, and offer a shoulder when needed…but i mainly want to be wanted not needed…if they are too needy i feel like i am raising them instead of partnering with them
by Chele Blades May 27th, 2011 at 7:52 amUmh…the perfect mate…Well, he would be intelligent, kind, physically attractive to me – what I like might not be everyone’s cup of tea…lol…I would also like him to be emotionally strong but emotionally available… would like him to be at least 6 feet 2 inches in height, fun loving, good sense of humor, blue or green eyes, good sense of humor, a lover of books …and someone who would be completely faithful.
by Maria D. May 27th, 2011 at 7:56 amPerfect mate? hmmm do they even exsist? Please don’t tell my hubby that… lol
by brooke May 27th, 2011 at 8:04 amHonestly, it would be someone that truly challenged me. Not challenged like that but made me a better person by keeping me on my toes and not getting into a routine day in and out….
My perfect mate.. everybody not perfect, LOL! But I can choose my perfect, he must be has a wicked sense of humor, so he can make me laugh everyday, he lend his shoulder when I’m crying, he must be by my side when I need his help. But, the most important I think is he love me with all his heart. My perfect mate will be my lover and my best friend forever
by Ren Puspita May 27th, 2011 at 9:17 amMy perfect mate would have to be passionate (not just sexually but about a lot opf things he believes in, like honesty, loyalty, generosity). He should have a warm heart and be compassionate. He also should be determined and strongwilled, but believe that what I have to say also merits to be heard. Respect women and consider me a partner in making decisions. He must be an intellectual partner I can look up to and who isn’t intimidated by my success. He should be self-confident and be proud of me 🙂
Physically he should be tall and preferably not scrawny ;-
D lol
Thank you for the giveaway!

by Gail S May 27th, 2011 at 9:37 amI think he would need to be: caring, romantic, sensible, trustworthy. Have a good sense of humor& willing to be wrong once in awhile, a flirt, with me Spontaneous, fun but also steadfast and willing to fight for his beliefs.
I <3 a tall, bad boy, with an understanding and loving personality. He has to be patient amd love being around family and friends.
Thanks for the giveaway!

by Susan Lathen May 27th, 2011 at 9:41 amMy perfect mate is my husband…..corny, I know! 😆
by rita hayward May 27th, 2011 at 10:11 amI don’t believe there is such a thing as a ‘perfect mate’. Rather I would love to find someone who has similar interests and is willing to be flexible, like me. (Wait, that’s my hubby!)
by A Hunter May 27th, 2011 at 10:32 amI like to read fantasy novels as they allow me to experience other people’s relationships that are way more risque than mine will ever be!
My “perfect mate” would be a man that would be understanding, and love family. I am a very family based person and my children and grandchildren mean everything to me. My perfect mate would want to spend time in family based activities. Looks to me do not mean much it is their personality and love of family that is everything.
by Cindy Henning May 27th, 2011 at 10:50 amAs long as he has a sense of humor, loves animals, and can put up with my weirdness he’s perfect for me. Oh wait..that means I already found him!! Yeah me 🙂
by Betty Lewis May 27th, 2011 at 10:51 amPerfect, nah, I would not expect that! I am looking for as close to Mr. Right for me! Who knows he may even be the opposite of everything I think I want… as long as he is an animal lover and cares for me!
by Colleen May 27th, 2011 at 11:03 amI think a perfect mate might drive me crazy.
by Gigi May 27th, 2011 at 11:29 amBut I would want him to be handsome, smart, thoughtful, loves dogs and enjoys just being with me.

by Wendy H May 27th, 2011 at 11:40 amI already have my perfect mate. 🙂 He’s funny, he understands me in a way no one else ever has, puts up with all my craziness, and doesn’t ask for more than just loving him in return. Of course….I wouldn’t be upset if he suddenly came into possesion of large sums of money…
by Tarrah C May 27th, 2011 at 11:42 amThe only must for my perfect mate is that he have a sense of humor. Otherwise we would never get along
by Mandy B. May 27th, 2011 at 12:04 pmHe’s smart, has a sense of humor, trustworthy and takes care of himself.
by Jane May 27th, 2011 at 12:06 pmI don’t know what my perfect mate would be. I just really hope I know him when I find him. All I really want is someone that’s going to love me exactly as I am and gets along with my family.
by Danni May 27th, 2011 at 12:55 pmSense of humor is a must for me.
Really as long as it’s someone who can put up with all my weirdness and whom I can put up with all their oddities, I’d be alright.
Because nobody wants to be with someone who truly annoys them with all the little things.
by Rae M. May 27th, 2011 at 1:23 pmMy perfect mate is caring and gentle, knows his way around a woman’s body and takes pleasure in my pleasure, and he has to have a fiery temperament ( I love a good argument and the make up sex is great).
by sabrina rautio May 27th, 2011 at 1:27 pmPerfect mate – Someone who can tolerate me is a definitely plus. One that can be patient but have very much in common with. One I can talk to about just about anything and have fun debates on the information that we do know.

by Lindsey E May 27th, 2011 at 5:53 pmI used to think that my perfect mate would have a long list of qualities that I wanted/needed. I have grown to realize that my perfect mate is someone totally different. He knows me and still loves me, he listens to me, he hears what I have to say, he compliments my personality, and he sticks with me through all that life has to throw at us. I feel terribly lucky to have found him 15 years agohttps://www.anyabastauthor.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

3. Family oriented
4. Believes in forever
A good sense of humor, young at heart, will push me to have more fun but know when to back off, loves animals, enjoys travels, open minded on religion & politics (and all those other tricky subjects); and enjoys being with me!
by Diane May 27th, 2011 at 7:07 pmTall, tanned & long blond hair. Smart, strong, caring & good with children & pets. Funny, focused & devoted.
by Shannon Charette May 27th, 2011 at 9:42 pmHmm…the perfect mate would be–I guess–perfect–with a whole lot of amazing and great qualities and just a bit of the bad to make him human–without driving me nuts lol
by Preye May 27th, 2011 at 10:51 pmThere is no such thing as a perfect mate, but there are good matches. My husband is a very good match for me, my opposite and I love his for all his differences.
