I have lots of great travel memories–seeing windmills in the Netherlands for the first time, having French Fries in Belgium. Even if you only went a few miles away, do you have any memorable travel experiences to share?
Did you only discover French fries in Belgium? Not our two kind of waffles?
^^ my travel memories….when i went to study english in Malta, i was the only one from my country so i was left alone but a kind girl came to me for the city tour and she bought two oranges and gave me one. I knew her only for less than 1hour and i found that very very kind ^^

by melissa cahall February 2nd, 2012 at 6:12 amI haven’t really been to anywhere super cool…the farthest away from Ohio I’ve been was Arizona. They have beautiful mountains there 🙂
by Nikki Brandyberry February 2nd, 2012 at 6:40 amOne of my fondest travel memories was when I went to the beach with my uncle and his family. I was 16 and this was the first time I was at the beach! My uncle said that I could go & do what I wanted during the day but I had to watch my little cousin at night for him so he could go out with his wife. I thought that was awesome! Just think… a teenager with no rules or always checking to see if someone was watching to see if you were up to no good!! I had a great time and I discovered somethings about myself during my week long vacation at the beach. 😉
by Melissa Lamb February 2nd, 2012 at 6:48 amWe went to Niagara Falls in the winter and it is beautiful. The water around the edge is frozen & the trees are dripping with ice and it looks like crystal. To top it off they illuminate the water with color lights. It is truly amazing to see. Then when your sense of sight is blown away, the sound of the water going over the falls is roaring and you can’t help but feel at peace. It is beautiful wonder of the world.–Rachel
by Rachel February 2nd, 2012 at 6:58 amI went with my husband and his sisters to visit another sister studying abroad in Germany. Let’s just say a lot of memories were made but I think the most memorable was when we drove from France to Germany and decided to take a short cut through the mountains during winter. Let’s just say it was more over the mountain than thru the mountains. We were lucky we made it, there were about 7 of us huddled in the front seat of the van to give the front wheels enough traction in the snow. It was definitely an adventure and not a short cut.
by JoAnna B February 2nd, 2012 at 8:03 amMy family and i went to Galveston beach. We had an awesome time. The kids loved the beach.
by Rhonda Dennis February 2nd, 2012 at 8:35 amThe Keys. Seeing dolphins for the first time out in the wild. The weather beautiful, 85 sunny and a touch of a breeze, but I had severe burn because I relaxed. I still went out again the next day. The place is too pretty to resist. Like a piece of paradise that I got to enjoy.
by carla c February 2nd, 2012 at 8:50 amBetween my Sophmor of Junior year in high school a group of us students traveled to Eroupe for 3 weeks. We went thru England, France, Switzerland, Italy, and Greece. Then had a 3 day cruse of the Greek islands. It was the most amazing trip I have ever taken and will never forget the food, cloths, culture, sites, and experiences that I had there. Plus now I have a hope of going back and taking my family with me 😉
by Nicole G. February 2nd, 2012 at 8:51 amWhen I was 16 I went on a missions trip to Poland and Germany, two weeks in either place. It was absolutely amazing! I will never forget the very atmosphere of the place. I am determined to someday return. 😎
by Ley February 2nd, 2012 at 9:20 amSeeing how clear the water is in the Carribean… it is amazing…
by Colleen February 2nd, 2012 at 9:53 amI loved my trip to Italy. I sat outside and had a calzone in a lovely courtyard. I was quickly joined by one, then two, then three little birds who kept trying to steal my crusts. I had a good laugh with the people around me.
by StacieD February 2nd, 2012 at 10:07 amI think the most amazing landscape I’ve seen lately was traveling to Yuma AZ from San Diego. We went over the mountains and the boulders we drove by were astounding. We’re from Oregon and we’re used to jagged boulders. These were HUGE round boulders! It looked like God dumped a dump truck of river rock out of heaven and we were in the “land of the giants”. We felt so small and were so awed by it!
by Glittergirl February 2nd, 2012 at 10:09 amGoing to Norway and visiting relatives and seeing where the grandparents came from. Going through parts of Sweden and Denmark, seeing the different buildings and the architecture.
by JeanP February 2nd, 2012 at 10:57 amWe had a chance to visit China with our parents, and it was amazing to see the villages where they’d grown up and to hear how much things had changed in the meantime.

by ELF February 2nd, 2012 at 1:14 pmAbout 8 or 9 years ago, my family and I went to Florida and I got to see the ocean for the first time. That was pretty memorable.

by bn100 February 2nd, 2012 at 2:02 pmI think my favourate holiday was camping up the top of mount Panorama in Bathurst in Australia. Mount Panorama is known to Aussies as a racetack. We were there for a 4 wheel drive meet. The camping was a bit uncomfortable but the view from the top of the mountain was wonderful, even though it was cold.
by Julie Perham February 2nd, 2012 at 2:18 pmThe best memories I have is of actually standing in front of Agamemnon’s Lion Gate and wandering around in the Palace of Minos at Knossos.
I’d read about them for years and finally had the chance to explore them in person!

by Asheleigh Wheeler February 2nd, 2012 at 3:10 pmMy first time going to the beach in South Carolina 🙂 I loved it so much! That’s where we live now ♥
by MaDonna Lemmen February 2nd, 2012 at 4:07 pmI’ll always remember climbing Table Mountain in the Cape of Good Hope in Cape Town, South Africa because of the baboons that came out of no where, surrounded me and one stole my celebratory ‘I made it to the top’ ice-cream bar! I was so freaked out, all I could do was say “give that back!” lol But boy was I glad to safely make it into the car and put up all the windows!
by Preye February 2nd, 2012 at 4:12 pmThe trip to Maui I took with my family so many years ago is probably my most memorable…the scenery was spectacular and the fruit was heavenly.
by Dave Sanchez February 2nd, 2012 at 4:12 pm:blush: One of my most memorable trips was going out west. I was amazed at the actual size of the carved Presidents heads in Black Hills, S.D. and seeing buffalo roaming in the wild. Needles Hwy. was a scary winding road to get to the actual site of the Needles Rock formation. Jackson Hole, WY. had the old west town that was so different, and the Grand Tetons were amazing in CO.
by Starr February 2nd, 2012 at 4:19 pmWhen I was in the 6th grade, we went to Disney World. I swear, I think my father had more fun than I did. LOL I was a great vacation.
by Tracey D February 2nd, 2012 at 4:22 pmIt would have to be the smoky mountains.. we went to lookout mt and ruby falls. Stunning!
by Christy V February 2nd, 2012 at 4:51 pmWell years ago my cousin and I went to Florida to see our aunt and we ended up making a wrong turn and finding a Sonics. It was the first time I ever ate there. It was pretty good. The back story to that is before then they would always air commercials for them here(IL) and we had none near us! Theres one now like 3 miles from my house but it was kinda funny at the time because they kept airing these commercials and we never knew where the heck any were. So kinda fun expirience. 🙂 Thanks for the contests!

We took a cruise to the British Isles and loved it. I really liked seeing the Guernsey Islands.
by Debra G February 2nd, 2012 at 7:54 pmI haven’t really traveled to a lot of places but I that my most memorable one would be when my brothers and I went to Kentucky for the first time.
Our dad lives in Covington Kentucky, and he wanted us to spend some time with him during our summer vacation when my younger brother and I were still in high school.
Just coming into Kentucky was great looking at all the buildings it looked so pretty from the bridge we were on.
Even though some of the days our dad still had to work it was just nice being closer to him then we usually are!
