In JEWELED the overall theme for all the characters is pushing past comfort zones to find new ways to survive. In the end, sloughing off the past and embracing new ways of living works out exceptionally well for all three of them, although it’s frightening at first.

I think most of us are afraid of change and tend to cling to what’s familiar and comfortable in our lives. What do you think? I know I have familiar routines I cherish–two cups of green tea in the morning, walking on the treadmill every day. Do you have routines like that? Have you ever voluntarily (or perhaps involuntarily) made radical changes in your life for the better?
